XI-XVI nelle tre tradizioni scrittorie dell’Occidente (sefardita, ashkenazita e italiana) – e sopravvissuti per essere stati riusati come legature di registri e libri conservati presso l’Archivio di Stato di Modena. Oltre ad antiche Bibbie del sec. XI copiate in Italia meridionale, compaiono preziosi testi della Mišnah, del Talmud babilonese, opere normative, filosofiche, cabbalistiche e qualche raro testo scientifico. / The 274 Hebrew fragments catalogued here have been recomposed in 124 original medieval manuscripts, copied during the 11th-16th centuries in the three Western scriptural traditions (Sephardic, Ashkenazic and Italian). They survived for having been re-used as bindings of records and books kept in the Modena State Archives. Also included are ancient 11th-century Bibles copied in Southern Italy, precious texts of the Mishnah and the Babylonian Talmud, normative, philosophical, kabbalistic works and some rare scientific texts.

Sono catalogati 386 frammenti, ricomponibili in 119 manoscritti ebraici medievali copiati fra il sec. X e il XVI nelle tre principali tradizioni scrittorie dell’Occidente: italiana, sefardita e ashkenazita. Salvati per essere stati riusati come legature, tra essi compare il più antico frammento della Tosefta (sec. X), il Commento sconosciuto ai Salmi e alla Torah di Yosef Qara (secc. XI-XII), testi del Talmud, opere di carattere normativo, liturgico, linguistico, filosofico ed esegetico. / The 386 fragments catalogued here can be recomposed in 119 Hebrew manuscripts copied between the 10th and the 16th century in the three main Western scriptural traditions: Italian, Sephardic and Ashkenazic. They survived for being re-used as bindings. Among them are the most ancient fragment of the Tosefta (10th century), the Unknown Commentary of Yosef Kara to the Psalms (11th-12th century), texts of the Talmud, normative, liturgical, linguistic, philosophical and exegetical works.

Sono censiti 394 manoscritti italiani e latini conservati nella serie B (argomento bolognese) della Biblioteca Comunale dell’Archiginnasio di Bologna. Giunge in questo modo a conclusione un’impresa, quella della descrizione dei manoscritti dell’Archiginnasio, che era stata avviata nel 1907. Il materiale proviene dal “fondo antico”, da doni di privati collezionisti, da acquisti compiuti fra la fine dell’Ottocento e i giorni nostri. / The descriptions of the 394 Italian and Latin manuscripts kept in the B department (subject: Bologna) of the Biblioteca Comunale dell’Archiginnasio in Bologna are gathered in this volume, with which ends the project, started in 1907, of the complete description of the manuscripts of the Archiginnasio. The material derives from the “fondo antico”, gifts from private collectors and acquisitions done from the end of the XIXth century to present day.

Il lavoro rappresenta la prima parte di un catalogo sistematico di questo nucleo, composito per origine, cronologia e natura dei testi, in cui si è cercato di storicizzare i singoli pezzi, organizzati fin dall’arrivo in Biblioteca in base al solo formato; gli indici speciali servono da orientamento rispetto ai temi specifici di interesse. / This card index contains information on 215 out of 994 manuscripts from the «Serie generale» of the Library, which form a heterogeneous group by origin, chronology and nature of the texts. Since the foundation of the Library, the single items have been organized exclusively by format, without information on their origin. Designed to easily find specific themes, the special indexes provide a useful tool for a systematic study of these manuscripts.
