Il problema dei rapporti fra scienza e religione costituisce da tempo oggetto di intensi dibattiti di carattere storiografico e teorico. The problem of the relationship between science and religion has long been the subject of intense historiographic and theoretical debates. This collection of essays offers original contributions to the advancement of these debates, while reconstructing important themes and historical events: 'scientific' Millenarianism of the early 17th century, the complex story of Galileo, the relationships between natural philosophy and theology in English culture at the time of Newton and Locke, and the controversies about the religious implications of scientific philosophy and of Darwinism between the 19th and 20th centuries.
