Un materiale particolarmente utile per indagare il funzionamento amministrativo, le modalità delle decisioni politiche e la partecipazione dei diversi ceti sociali al governo, nonché per approfondire la comprensione delle relazioni politiche ed economiche tra San Gimignano e le altre città toscane, soprattutto Firenze, Pisa e Siena. / The records of the Podestà’s Councils constitute the most ancient registers of San Gimignano’s Councils, unique documents in the landscape of Italian townships from that period. These materials are particularly useful to investigate the administrative operations, the procedures involved in political decisions, and the participation of the different social classes to the government; as well as to deepen the understanding of the political and economic relationships between San Gimignano and the other Tuscan cities, above all Florence, Pisa and Siena.
