Si tratta della versione in francese dello Schizzo della moderna filosofia e del proprio sistema, opera riproposta più volte in seguito in varie edizioni. Questo lavoro del Rosmini (Rovereto 1797 - Stresa 1855) viene pubblicato in Italia, nel periodico La sapienza, a.3 (1881) fasc.5 e 6, ristampato poi a Torino presso la Tipografia Giulio Speirani e figli nel medesimo anno (1881). Appare in Francia in questa rara edizione del 1883. William Lockhart, che ne scrisse l'introduzione, diverrà poi il biografo del Rosmini
