Abstract: Elector of Saxony and King of Poland -- had the Green Vault, a unique collection of European arts and crafts, established in the rooms of his residential palace in Dresden. a major portion of these art treasures is today displayed in the Albertinum Museum. The select representative objects, shown primarily in new photographs in this pictorial volume, reflect the opulent splendor of exquisite exotic materials and the sensuous charm of each individual artwork. Some masterpieces are published here for the first time; others are presented from a unique viewpoint which results in surprising new insights. Noble boxes were opened by the photographer so that the viewer could catch a glimpse of their interior designs. Or thew camera circles around a bronze group and is no doing captures its dance-like motion. Numerous selective enlargements exhibit the artful workmanship of the objects down to the smallest detail.
