Sacrilegio e Redenzione nella Firenze Rinascimentale. Il caso di Antonio Rinaldeschi. A Firenze, nell'estate del 1501, un uomo chiamato Antonio Rinaldeschi fu arrestato e impiccato per aver tirato sterco di cavallo sull'immagine della Madonna esposta in un tabernacolo. La pena fu severa, anche per quei tempi, dato che i crimini dei quali fu accusato, bestemmia, blasfemia e tentato suicidio, non erano normalmente puniti con la pena capitale. Sacrilegio e Redenzione nella Firenze rinascimentale indica una serie di nuove fonti, scoperte in relazione all'episodio. Gli autori ci svelano come il contesto politico e religioso della Firenze rinascimentale abbia influito sia sulla sentenza di morte di Rinaldeschi, sia nella creazione da parte dei seguaci di Savonarola di una nuova devozione nel cuore della città a memoria dell'evento.
