Popkin’s research. The essays provide a variety of researches, ranging from specific aspects of Christian Hebrew studies in the modern age to the role of sceptic trends in the foundation of secular ethics. At the same time, a primary focus would be from the spreading of Spinozism, which constitutively enters the crucial decades from the late seventeenth and the early eighteenth centuries, up to the political theorization and juridical coding of toleration.
