Four By Three. Four by Three is a four part suite for three saxophones. Each movment is designed to stand on its own as well as forward the development of the suite. All four parts are based on different moods of the blues, hench the title (each chorus consists of three four-bar phrases). Solos may be played as is or improvised. In the Pocket is a medium tempo blues. The groove is built around the Charleston rhythm, Tenor Solo 74th Street Drag is a slow funky blues that stays close to the roots of the music. Blues People is a medium tempo triplet or 12/8 blues. Triplets and shouts are tossed freely among the three players. All Aboard is a fast riff-style blues evoking the rhythms and sounds of the traditional blues. Solos for all three players. Music rating based on 1=beginner to 6=advanced. .
