Il volume, che raccoglie gli Atti di un Convegno tenutosi a Copenaghen nel mese di novembre 1998, ha come filo conduttore la riflessione sulla critica italiana e le teorie letterarie. Gli interventi qui raccolti riflettono la molteplicità e gli spostamenti di frontiere che si sono sviluppati nel campo di tensione tra strutturalismo e poststrutturalismo. L’opera è divisa in quattro sezioni: Critica, Poesia, Narrativa e, infine, Intorno a Calvino. Particolare attenzione infatti è stata posta al tema fondamentale del detto e del non detto, richiamandosi ad alcuni testi di Italo Calvino, la cui poetica, la prassi letteraria e quella non meno importante di critico riflette le svolte teoriche e le problematiche analizzate.
