Testo in Francese Edward George Earle Bulwer-Lytton (1803-1873), 1er Baron Lytton de Knebworth, membre du Conseil privé du Roi, est un homme politique, poète, dramaturge, romancier, ésotériste et initié britannique du XIXe siècle. Edward Bulwer-Lytton a fait partie de diverses fraternités initiatiques et a été le dépositaire de nombreux secrets mystérieux et ésotériques qu'il a partiellement transfusés dans ses livres. Franc-maçon, membre de la Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia, qui a ensuite donné vie à l'Ordre de la Golden Dawn, il a entretenu des relations avec tout le milieu occulte-initiatique anglais et européen de la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle.The Coming Race (La Race future), publié en 1871, était son roman le plus controversé et le plus énigmatique. Il y utilise le mythe de la terre creuse - comme Edgar Poe et Jules Verne - pour nous parler d'une mystérieuse race aryenne aux pouvoirs supérieurs vivant dans les profondeurs de notre planète: la société des Vril-ya, une société cachée sous la surface de la Terre où vivent des millions de personnes, une race supérieure aux hommes d'un point de vue technologique et spirituel.

Harold Godwinson (or Harold II) (Old English: Harold Godwines sunu) (c. 1022 – 14 October 1066) was the last Anglo-Saxon King of England.[1] Harold reigned from 6 January 1066 [2] until his death at the Battle of Hastings on 14 October of that same year, fighting the Norman invaders led by William the Conqueror during the Norman conquest of England. Harold is one of only three Kings of England to have died in warfare; the other two were Richard the Lionheart and Richard III. Harold was a son of Godwin, the powerful Earl of Wessex, and his wife Gytha Thorkelsdóttir, whose supposed brother Ulf Jarl was the son-in-law of Sweyn I and the father of Sweyn II of Denmark. Godwin and Gytha had several children, notably sons Sweyn, Harold, Tostig, Gyrth and Leofwine and a daughter, Edith of Wessex (1029–1075), who became Queen consort of Edward the Confessor.
