Do rural communities have something to teach those living in the world’s metropolises today? And vice versa, can a metropolitan artist open new perspectives for the inhabitants of a small town? These complementary and reciprocal questions led to the birth of the Nocefresca project, inviting artists from diverse cultures to engage in dialogue with residents of rural Sardinian areas, thereby uncovering a common alphabet composed of images, colours, signs, sounds, thoughts, and emotions inspired by the experience of Milis: a small village located near the West Coast of the island of Sardinia, in Italy.

Sharon Press 2006, cm.25x31, pp.304, legatura editoriale cartonata con sopraccoperta. Continental Drift is the chronicle of a body of work created by Peter Pettus from 1959 to 1990 in three distinct mediums: photography, pottery and painting. In explaining how this work came to be made, Pettus reveals the restless and relentless search that preoccupied him throughout these years. The nature of this search forms the heart of the book, reflected both in the text and the work. The book raises many issues. What is art and why? Where are we now and how did we get here? These are questions that never vanish, embedded as they are in ambiguity and complexity. Continental Drift is his story and his final work of art. The book binds his work and his words together; the validation of an artist’s intent.
