Abstract: The only complete monograph on the past twelve years of the great architect's career.Published in concomitance with the major exhibition curated by Germano Celant at the Triennale di Milano, this volume brings together all the projects realized by Frank O.Gehry since his pivotal stylistic metamorphosis of 1997, embodied by the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, until today.Among the featured works: the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (1989-2003), the DZ Bank Building in Berlin (1995-2001), the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago (1999-2004), the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C. (1999-2005), the Experience Music Project in Seattle (1995-2000), the Art Gallery of Ontario (2000-2008), the Interactive Corporation headquarters in New York (2003-2007), the Beekman Street residential complex in New York (2003-2009), and two projects begun in 2005-06 that are still underway, the Atlantis Sentosa resort in Singapore and the Guggenheim Museum in Abu Dhabi.Key Sales Information - Frank O. Gehry - the living embodiment of the contemporary term "starchitect" - is arguably the most famous architect alive today; for this reason books on him are of perennial interest.- Opening with a critical essay by Germano Celant, the catalogue presents every one of the 1989 Pritzker Prize winner's projects since 1997, many of them heretofore unpublished, in the form of sketches, study drawings, 3-D elaborations, models and photographs of finished buildings.- It will be a must-have for architects, architectural enthusiasts, and anyone interested in modern design.Author Germano Celant has been Director of the Prada Foundation (Milan) since 1995, and Curator of the Aldo Rossi Foundation (Milan) since 2007. In 2008 he was appointed Curator of the Emilio and Annabianca Vedova Foundation (Venice), and in 2009 became head of Art and Architecture at the Triennale di Milano. From 1989 to 2008 he was Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Internationally known for his writings on Arte Povera, in 1987 he received the Frank Jewett Mather Award, the most prestigious American prize for art criticism. In 1997 he curated the XLVII Biennale di Venezia. He served as artistic supervisor for "Genoa - European Culture Capital 2004", curating for that occasion the exhibition "Arti&Architettura, 1900-2000".
